GRANNEX Recycling‑Technik GmbH & Co. KG, based in Osnabrück, acquired 100% of the shares in Häder GmbH Kunststoffrecycling, headquartered in Hilter am Teutoburger Wald, effective August 1, 2022.

The acquisition of Häder GmbH Kunststoffrecycling is an integral part of the growth strategy of GRANNEX Recycling‑Technik GmbH & Co. KG (GRANNEX). Following the launch of an extensive expansion and investment program at the Osnabrück site, this acquisition now opens up additional growth opportunities in the Osnabrück region. At a time when the industry is shaped by price excesses, rapidly increasing volatility, high investment requirements, growing regulatory challenges, heightened sensitivity regarding resource use, and considerable uncertainty in energy procurement and supply, GRANNEX is underlining its growth ambitions and its clear commitment to future‑proof mechanical plastics recycling with this acquisition.
In the coming months, the focus will be on upgrading the processing technology and expanding recycling capacities in Hilter. In particular, additional capacity for the recycling of difficult‑to‑recycle mixed plastic waste is to be created. Following the modernization of the Osnabrück site and the acquisition of Häder GmbH Kunststoffrecycling, GRANNEX’s total recycling capacity will increase to approximately 35,000 tonnes per year by the end of the year. Further investments, locations, and processing capacities are already planned.
In addition to increasing GRANNEX’s delivery and performance capability, the objective of all future measures is to reduce the CO₂ footprint across all sites and throughout the entire value chain. Protecting resources, saving energy, and preserving valuable assets is fundamentally important—especially in the current environment. As part of the site and equipment upgrades, new processes will therefore be implemented that reduce both energy and water consumption.
